Poetry and Prose Competition 2024

The Oslo Writers League proudly announces their first writing competition to accompany the launch of their seventh anthology titled "Restart".

Accepted are all forms of writing as long as they are under a thousand words and fit the theme of "restart". 

Winners will have the opportunity to publicly perform their literary piece for an audience at the OWL anthology launch event.

Length: Under 1000 words

Submission Guidelines

For anonymous reading, do not put your name anywhere in the document!

Maximal length: 1000 words.

One submission per person. 

Submission must be in English or Norwegian. 

No reprints, no AI generated content, simultaneous submissions are allowed, as long as you inform us immediately via email if your piece is accepted elsewhere. 


Submission is free for OWL members.

Reading fee of 50nok/5€ for non-members.

Winner Announcement and Prizes

Winners will be announced at the book launch event of our anthology on 19th October. Winning pieces will be read there. 

If the winning writers are able to join the book launch in person, they are allowed read their pieces themselves. Else, a member of OWL will read the piece for them. 

Note that prizes are only handed out to winners who can join the book launch in person.
